Cynthia Matar

leads strategic communications and public affairs at Tusk Venture Partners. She empowers TVP portfolio companies to refine their messaging and engage target audiences through media strategies encompassing earned, owned, and paid media.

With a career spanning the consumer-facing Venture Capital arena, Cynthia is recognized for her strategic leadership and innovative approach in Brand Marketing and Communications. She has a proven track record of breathing life into brand narratives and cultivating community. Prior to joining Tusk, Cynthia played a key role in building platform divisions at both early and growth stage VC firms, significantly shaping their market presence. She launched three distinct investment funds ranging from $10MM-$75MM, each meticulously designed to address inequalities in the VC and startup ecosystem while balancing returns and social impact. She brings her expertise leading crucial initiatives across Public Relations, Marketing & Communications, Investor Relations, Portfolio Operations, and Business Development.

Cynthia previously served as Chief of Staff to a San Diego-based Neurotech VC firm and managed integrated communications strategies bringing a Global Health & Wellness Investor Network to market. She holds a B.A. from Pace University’s Joseph I. Lubin School of Business and is based out of the firm’s NY office.
